Reduce Rent Costs: Relocate Post Offices to State-Owned Premises – Urgent Action Required

Background:

• A significant number of Departmental Post Offices currently operate from rented premises owned by private individuals or firms.
• This results in substantial expenditure on rent.

Request:

• Explore the possibility of relocating post offices from rented buildings to government-owned buildings.
• Government-owned buildings include those belonging to the State Government, such as those located at bus stations or other suitable locations.

Action Required:

• Conduct an exercise to assess the feasibility of this shift.
• Submit the results and estimates to the Directorate by 7th April 2025.
