India Post DOP Clarification: Pay Rules for PA/SA recruiting during 2009-2010 Postal Assistants | Official Circular

The official communication from the Department of Posts (DOP), Government of India, references an attachment  clarifying the eligibility of Direct Recruited Postal Assistants (PAs/SAs) from 2009 & 2010 for regular pay during induction training.

Subject:- Appointment of PA/SA by Direct recruitment against the vacancies of the year 2009 & 2010- regarding.

Madam/Sir,

References have been received from many Circles wherein they have sought clarification that in some Divisions, Postal Assistants/Sorting Assistants (Direct Recruits of the year 2009 & 2010) had been allowed joining after the induction training because of which they were given stipend instead of regular pay and allowance resulting in disparity among the PAS/SAs of different Divisions of the Circle. Further Circles also sought clarification as to whether Direct Recruited Postal Assistants of the year 2009 and 2010 recruited against backlog vacancies prior to 2009 are eligible for payment of regular pay and allowances during the period of induction training.

2.In this regard, detailed instructions have already been issued vide Directorate's letter no. W-04/5/2020-SPN-I dated 19/20.04.2021.

3.Circles are requested to follow the instructions contained in aforesaid letter dated 19/20.04.2021.

4. Further, vide letter no. W-04/5/2020 dated 07.10.2021 clarification has been issued to Telangana Circle (copy enclosed) wherein it was stated that the officials who have been appointed against backlog vacancies prior to 2009, have been recruited through Direct Recruitment in the year 2009 and 2010 may be treated at par with other officials recruited through the same examination.

5. Clarification issued to Telangana Circle vide letter no. W-04/5/2020 dated 07.10.2021 shall be treated as general one and is applicable to all Circles.

Subject: Clarification regarding payment of regular pay and allowances to Direct Recruited Postal Assistants/Sorting Assistants of 2009 & 2010 against backlog vacancies prior to 2009 – reg.

Madam/Sir,

In reference to the above subject, it is clarified that the officials who have been appointed against backlog vacancies prior to 2009, and recruited through Direct Recruitment in the years 2009 and 2010, may be treated at par with other officials recruited through the same examination for the purpose of granting regular pay and allowances during their induction training period.

This issues with the approval of the competent authority.
