Subject: Technical and functional upgrade of L1 registered fingerprint devices

Please refer to UIDAI letters no. HQ-13021/1/2021-Auth-1 HQ, dated 1.11.2024 and 29.11.2024, regarding completion of technical and functional upgrade of L1 registered fingerprint devices which was expected to be completed by 31.12.2024.

2.In this regard, the undersigned is directed to convey that the date for the completion of technical and functional upgrade of L1 registered fingerprint devices is hereby extended to 31.1.2025.

3.It is further reiterated that the whitelisting of new L1 fingerprint devices shall be undertaken after completion of the technical and functional upgrade of L1 registered fingerprint devices and the already whitelisted L1 registered devices may continue to function as at present.

4.This issue with the approval of competent authority.
