The All India Association of Inspectors and Assistant Superintendents, Posts (AIAIPASP) has reached out to the Department of Posts to address the pressing issue of assigning Assistant Superintendent of Posts (ASP) promotees to their parent circles. This concern arises from the recent PS Group-B promotion list issued on December 27, 2024, where many Inspectors promoted to ASP cadre were posted to distant circles, over 1500 kilometers away from their home circles .
The association acknowledges the Department's efforts in facilitating promotions and relaxations in transfer policies. However, the current situation has caused significant challenges for ASP promotes, affecting their personal and professional lives.
To address this issue, the association requests the Department to consider re-allocating ASPs currently posted in distant circles to their parent circles, wherever vacancies exist. This adjustment would ease the burden on affected officers, ensure smoother administrative functioning, and boost morale within the cadre.
With around 40 vacancies emerging in the ASP cadre due to recent promotions, the association believes this is an opportune time to address the issue. They remain hopeful that the Directorate will consider their appeal and facilitate the re-allotment process promptly.
