Subject: Pendency of Compassionate Engagement Cases of GDS in Circles -reg.

Sir/Madam,

This office has received references from GDS unions regarding the slow disposal of compassionate engagement cases of GDS in some circles.

2. Upon examining the MIS of compassionate cases, it has been observed that in 15 circles (i.e., other than Kerala, Bihar, A.P, H.P, Maharashtra, Telangana, Delhi and J&K Circle) more than 40% of the cases approved by the CCE are pending approval by the DPS. In certain circles, such as Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Jharkhand, West Bengal, North East, and Punjab, not a single case has been approved since the launch of the Online GDS Compassionate Engagement Portal.

3. Accordingly, I am directed to request the concerned HOCs to ensure necessary action is taken by the respective DPSs to dispose of the compassionate engagement cases already cleared by the CCE. Additionally, the compassionate engagement process requires close monitoring in all Circles to prevent delays. It is also informed that the MIS for compassionate engagement cases is available at the Circle/Regional level, facilitating efficient monitoring. Therefore, there should be no need for the Directorate to intervene in matters concerning the welfare of the families of deceased GDSS.

This issues with the approval of the competent authority.
