MoF Guidelines for Double TPTA for Employees with Disabilities

The Ministry of Finance has issued guidelines for granting Transport Allowance at double the normal rate to employees with disabilities, as per Office Memorandum No. 21/1/2018-E.IIB dated September 15, 2022.

To be eligible, employees must have a disability of at least 40% as per Rule 2(r) of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016. They must also possess a valid disability certificate issued by a certified medical authority.

Notably, the Head of the Department's permission is not required to avail of this benefit. Employees who had submitted their disability certificate at the time of appointment are eligible for double Transport Allowance from the date of their appointment itself.

To receive this allowance, employees must apply to their department's administrative authority, furnishing their disability certificate. The allowance will be granted from the date the certificate is received by the administrative authority .
