Sub: Increasing Awareness about issuance of Digital Copy of Postal Life Insurance (PLI)/Rural Postal Life Insurance (RPLI) Policy Bond through DigiLocker.

Kindly refer to this office letter of even no. dated 24.05.2024 regarding issuance of digital version of Postal Life Insurance / Rural Postal Life Insurance policy bond (ePLIERPLI bond) through DigiLocker Application and creating awareness about the same.

2. In this regard, it is once again informed that in many cases, e-PLI bond through DigiLocker is still not getting generated on account of Aadhaar authentication issues. This is mainly due to mismatch between name of policyholder as mentioned in the policy bond and that available in Aadhaar Card.

3. It is therefore once again requested to kindly sensitize our staff as well as salesforce to educate our PLI/RPLI customers about the need to ensure that the spelling of their name in the PLI/RPLI policy bond should be exactly the same as that in their Aadhaar card, for availing e-Bond facility in PLI/RPLI through DigiLocker. Any corrections in the name of an insurant, if required, may done as per detailed SOP on Name Change issued vide PLI Directorate letter no. 25- 04/SOP/ 2020-LI dated 05.05.2022.

This issues with the approval of the competent authority.
