Subject: SDBS for Grameen Dak Sevaks Case of such GDS who die in harness.

Respected Madam,

The scheme of SDBS has been introduced on the same lines as the New Pension Scheme for the departmental employees. In the NPS, family pension for such employees who die in harness has been introduced. According to this scheme, the next of kin of the employees would be getting 50% of the last pay as family pension.

The death of GDS while in service is not rare. The death of the bread earner of the family brings unbearable hardship to the bereaved family. The family pension scheme as for departmental employees needs to be introduced for the GDS.

We, therefore, request you kindly to look into the matter personally, take a humanitarian view, and cause action to be taken with regard to family pension for the GDS.
