Subject: Policy guidelines on delivery of Postal articles by Delivery staff through their own two-wheeler vehicle - reg.

This has reference to Postal Directorate letter of even no. dated 25th October, 2024 on the above referred subject thereby issuing policy guidelines for delivery of all types of postal articles by Delivery staff through their own two-wheeler vehicle and re- imbursement of fuel charges thereof.

2. Circles were also requested vide Directorate letter referred above to implement the Policy guidelines in the Post offices for delivery of all kind of postal articles including documents by the delivery staff with effect from 15th November, 2024.

3. The matter has been reviewed by Hon'ble MoC during Dashboard meeting on 29th November, 2024. Hon'ble MoC has directed that all delivery beats needs to be covered under mechanized delivery by 31st December, 2024.

4. Accordingly, Circles are requested to take necessary steps to cover all delivery beats under mechanized delivery as is provided under the Policy guidelines.

5. A weekly progress report on the implementation of mechanization of delivery beats in the Circle may be forwarded to the Postal Directorate on e-mail i.d. mailbusinessdte@gmail.com from 9th December, 2024 onwards in the attached format. Weekly report in the matter may be forwarded on each Monday by 12.00 hrs. for the preceding week.
