Sub: Payment of TA/DA for serving government servants assisting GDS in Oral Inquiry- reg.
Sir, I am directed to refer to your office letter no. Letter no. VIG/1-0/Dlgs/2018 dated 12.07.2024 on the subject mentioned above and to clarify that if serving officials would be entitled to TA/DA in case they assist GDS in Rule 10 Disciplinary Proceedings as 'Defence Assistant'.
Matter has been examined. It is decided that, similar to the provision of entitlement of TA/DA in case of assistance rendered by retired and serving govt. officials in the disciplinary cases of regular govt servants as per the instructions contained in MHA OM No. F.16/122/56.AVD dated 18.08.1960 read with DoPT OM No. 35014/1/77-Estt (A) dated 24.08.1977, they (both retired and serving officials) are also entitled to TA/DA in case they assist a GDS in disciplinary proceedings.
This issues with the approval of the competent authority.
Yours faithfully,
Signed by
Ravi Pahwa
