Grant of Special Casual Leave to Differently-Abled Employees
Heads of Department may grant special casual leave to differently-abled employees for participating in conferences, seminars, training, and workshops related to disability and development. These events must be organized at the national or state level by agencies specified by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.
Conditions for Granting Special Casual Leave
1. Duration: Special casual leave may be granted for up to 10 days in a calendar year.
2. Excess Leave: Any period exceeding 10 days will be treated as regular leave.
3. Combination with Regular Leave: Special casual leave may be combined with regular leave in exceptional cases.
4. Additional Leave: Differently-abled employees may also be granted special casual leave for up to 4 days in a calendar year, subject to specific requirements related to their disability.
This provision is in accordance with the Ministry of Home Affairs' Office Memorandum No. 46-26/63-Ests (A), dated December 2, 1963.
