Sub: Change of duration of beat rotation of Postman - reg

In view of the changed circumstances in duties of Postman, providing hand held devices, business activities etc., the Competent Authority has ordered to change the present Postman beat rotation from the existing 2 years to 4 years. It is requested to change the periodicity of present Postman beat rotation from 2 years to 4 years with immediate effect.

The Postmen who are presently working may be allowed to continue in the same beat till they complete 4 years in their respective beats.

On completion of 4 years in a particular beat, the Postmen should be rotated to the adjoining beat in a linear direction. While beat rotation, it should be ensured that the Postmen should not be allowed to come back to the same beat before working in all other beats.

As per latest directorate guidelines Head of Circle instructed to formulate and circulate policy guidelines regarding Postman beat rotation and mail overseers rotation

DOP F. No. 141-141/2013-SPB-II dated 17/01/2019 - Guidelines for Transfer

(xv) Mail Overseers, Postman and Multi-Tasking Staff are exempted from rotational transfer except on administrative grounds. Heads of Circles shall formulate and circulate policy regarding beat rotation of Mail Overseers and Postman.
