Subject: Compliance of CIC Order dated 23/01/2018 in case no. CIC/BS/A/2016/001011.

It is brought to your notice that Central Information Commission has recommended the Director General, Department of Posts to instruct every post office to inform every person who is booking a parcel to insure their parcel if it contains valuable articles and that they would get only Rs.100/- as compensation in case of loss of articles.

2. In this context it is requested to instruct every post office in your circle to inform every person who is booking a parcel to insure their parcel if it contains valuable articles and that they would get only Rs.100/- as compensation in case of loss of articles.
