Child Care Leave (CCL) Rules

Eligibility:

  • Female government servants
  • Single male government servants

Entitlement:

  • Maximum of 730 days (2 years) of CCL in entire service
  • For taking care of 2 eldest surviving children below 18 years or children with 40% or more disability

Conditions:

  • CCL will not be granted for more than 3 spells in a calendar year (except for single female government servants, who can get up to 6 spells)
  • Not applicable to probationers, except in extreme conditions
  • Minimum duration of CCL is 5 days
  • Salary: 100% for the first 365 days and 80% for the remaining period

Combining CCL with Other Leaves:

  • CCL can be combined with any kind of leave
  • Leave due and admissible (including Commuted Leave without Medical Certificate, not exceeding 60 days, and Leave Not Due) up to a maximum of 1 year can be granted in continuation with CCL

Debiting CCL:

  • CCL will not be debited against any leave account.
