Subject: Reservation to Economic Weaker Section (EWS) candidates for appointment to the post of Postal Assistant/ Sorting Assistant on the basis of Combined Graduate Level Examination (CGLE), 2022 - clarification - regarding.

Sir,

I am directed to refer to your letter No. W-04/14/2023-SPN-I-DOP dated 07.05.2024 on the subject mentioned above and to say that the validity of the EWS certificate is to be verified as per Para 2.1(ix) of Dossier forwarding letter also which is reproduced below:

2.1 (ix) 'In case of EWS candidate, it must be ensured that he/she possesses the Income & Asset certificate valid for the financial year 2022-2023 issued on the basis of Income for the financial year 2021-22 in accordance with DOP&T OM No. 36039/1/2019-Estt (Res.) dated 31.01.2019.

As such, the EWS certificate issued after the crucial date as mentioned in the notice of examination, is also acceptable provided the candidate possesses the EWS certificate for the relevant financial year as per Para 2.1(ix) mentioned above.
