Subject: Alleged use of fake mark sheets in GDS Engagement - regarding.

R/Sir,
A case of alleged use of fake mark sheets of " Bihar Open School Education and Examination Board, Patna (in short Bihar Open School) and "West Bengal Council of Rabindra Open Schooling, West Bengal (in short West Bengal Open School), has been reported to this Directorate by UP Circle.

2. In order to find out the scale of the suspected activities of alleged fake mark sheets in other places, CEPT was requested to provide the details of the candidates selected from these Boards across the Circles in the current engagement Schedule, July-2024, which has revealed as under:

i) There are total 65 candidates across the Circles from Bihar Open School in the list 1 & 2 of the Current Schedule whose 1st Stage DV has been successful and they have reported to the EA for further engagement formalities.

ii) Similarly, 16 candidates across the Circles are from West Bengal open School in the list 1 & 2 of the Current Schedule whose 1st Stage DV has been successful and they have reported to the EA for further engagement formalities.

iii) Although both the boards are not having facilities of digi-locker/online verification utilities, yet there are 16 mark sheets, which have been shown to be verified from digi-locker in respect of Bihar open School and 06 in respect of West Bengal open School.

iv) The Circle wise no. of candidates of both the boards whose 1st DV is successful and have reported to EA is given as under:

3. In order to avoid chances of selection of candidates on the basis of fake mark sheets of above two education boards following course of action has been decided in the matter:

(i) Since, the marksheets of these boards are not available in digi-locker and also cannot be verified from their website as well, the same will be verified using educational certificate verification facility available in the online engagement portal through Bihar and West Bengal Circles, as prescribed in the SoP. Both the Circles will depute special messenger to get these 81 mark sheets verified and upload the verification report in the portal within a week under intimation to Directorate and UP Circle.

(ii) The concerned Circles as referred to in Table1 and Table 2 will inquire at their end as to how the certificates were verified from digi-locker (details enclosed), when such facility was not available in respect of above two educational boards and furnish their report to GDS section within three days.

(iii) After release of the third list of the shortlisted candidates in the GDS Online Engagement Schedule, Bihar and West Bengal Circles will continue to get the marksheets these two boards verified on priority basis within a fortnight by deputing special messenger and upload the verification report on the portal as per SoP already circulated earlier.

(iv) The candidates from these boards, including those have already been selected so far, will not be engaged on provisional basis or otherwise by any of the Circles in the current schedule till receipt of successful verification report in the manner indicated above.
