This is with reference to my previous communication of even number dated 13 th June, 2024, regarding the campaign 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' launched by Hon'ble Prime Minister of India on the occasion of World Environment Day (copy enclosed). It was mentioned in the letter that collective efforts are being made to ensure 80 crore plantation by September 2024 and 140 crore by March 2025, following a 'Whole of the Government' and 'Whole of the Society Approach'.

2.Our collective efforts have resulted in more than 59 crore saplings having been planted since the launch of the campaign on 5th June, 2024 and reported on the merilife portal (https://merilife.nic.in).

3. In order to impart further momentum to this ongoing campaign, it has been decided to organize a one-day special plantation drive on 17th September, 2024. It is requested that appropriate directions may kindly be issued to all Organizations/ Institutions under your Ministry/Department to undertake the aforesaid plantation drive on 17th September, 2024 and to have the details of plantation/ activities uploaded on the merilife portal mentioned above.

4.Your guidance and support would go a long way in the successful implementation of this national campaign.
