Modified Hardware Specifications and Specifications for newly added Hardware as per requirements of IT 2.0 – June 2024.
Postal Directorate has recommended vide Directorate letter no. Tgy-48/5/2022-Tech-DOP dated 03.07.2024 to purchase a hardware to the post office as specified below. This recommendation based on the MelTY vide letter no. 8(1)/2023-Cyber Security dated 4.6.2024,

In partial modification of approved Hardware Specification Document - DoP IT Modernization 2.0 circulated to all Circles vide e-mail dated 23.11.2022, keeping in view the requirements of the new solution being developed by CEPT and the guidelines issued by MelTY vide letter no. 8(1)/2023-Cyber Security dated 4.6.2024, a Modified Hardware Specification document is attached herewith for information and further necessary action. This document also contains specifications of newly added hardware requirements under IT 2.0 such as Label and Receipt Printer, QR and Barcode Scanner, Tablet etc.

Note:
1) For each Counter, one Desktop/Laptop/Tab, One Thermal Printer, One Scanner and One Biometric Fingerprint Scanner (wherever required) are to be supplied.
2) Number of devices for each office depends on the number of counters, workload and office specific requirements.
3) Available hardware may be used to the extent feasible until end of life.
4) Ensure that the existing Dot Matrix Printers, spared from the counters and having useful lifespan are gainfully used in back-Office operations in all circles.
5) Ensure that priority shall be given to purchase devices with advanced technology and which are “Made in India”.
