OFFICE MEMORANDUM
Subject: Suspension of booking of mails destined to Israel.
The present conflict between Iran and Israel has led to a situation of cancellation of flights and non-availability of alternate transmission channels for international mail. It is therefore decided to temporarily suspend booking of all categories of international mail for Israel with immediate effect, until further orders.
2. The articles booked for Israel and not yet dispatched to destination country including the bags at Offices of Exchange / TMOS may kept on hold at OES till further information is received from the Airlines regarding resumption of the services.
3. In line with the letter No. DA-26/3/2020-DA dated 26.04.2021 issued by the Directorate, due to the given force majure situation, customers who wish to recall their booked articles for Israel may do so by giving a written application to the booking post office and may claim refund of postage provided that no other liabilities for such cases will be accepted by the DoP. This will only be applicable for articles which are still lying in India and could not be transmitted abroad. The particular article kept at OES may be returned to the booking office when request for recall is made by the customers and received through proper channel.
