Subject:Clarification regarding special increment to Sports Persons.

This is with reference to letter No. WLF/CSB/Mis/SPL Increment/2022-23 dated 30.03.2023 seeking clarification on the following:

Whether following category winners of Sports and Cultural events are eligible for special increment or not.

(i.) All India Posta! Tournaments and Cultural Meet

(ii.) All India Civil Services Cultural Meet

2.With respect to above, following is mentioned:

i. All India Postal Tournaments and Cultural Meet does not fulfill the terms and conditions mentioned under DOPT's OM No 6/1/85-Estt (Pay-I) dated 17.06.1985 & 08.06.1989.

ii. It is intimated that recently, DOPT has summarized all OMs related to various incentives for participating in sports tournaments/events of national or international importance for guidance and better understanding (Copy attached). The cases regarding grant of special incentives including special increment to Sports Person may be examined in accordance with the aforesaid instructions. List of sports/cultural events organized by Central Civil Services Sports Board (CCSSB) is available at DOPT's Website https://dopt.gov.in/welfare/about-sports-board.
