Sub: - Regarding fixing business hours in Post Offices
Ref:- Directorate letter No. 27-46/2015-PO dated 07.01.2016

Respected Sir,

A kind attention is invited to the Hon'ble Secretary (Posts) regarding Business Hours observed by Post Offices vague in entire country. As per clause 5 of P.O. Guide Part-I, business hours are described as below tabulated please -office

About six to seven hours (five hours during Saturday)

About five hours (three hours during Saturday)

But it came to notice of this association that business hours are observed variable event in the same division, which not only creates confusion amongst customers rather it becomes matter of dispute unnecessarily.

Hence, it is humbly requested to issue instructions to all HoCs to ensure business hours observed equally according to status of Post Offices ie. Gazetted HO/Non-Gazetted HO/MDG/Big, A, B or C SOS.
