Various Putty commands for restoration of DARPAN Device Version-2.0 (Revised) | RICT Master Guide

Dear friends, presently Divl. System Admin has to perform restoration works of DARPAN Device through Putty command. In this new version some other important issues/modifications are being included together with previously shared putty commands and procedures:

### Following three (3) software are required to make control on DARPAN Device from PC/Laptop.

i) PUTTY.EXE
ii) WinSCP.exe
iii) VNC-Viewer-5.1.0-Windows-32bit.exe

After downloading all the files copy the files and paste into one Folder for frequent use. Configuration to connect Device with PC/Laptop:
1) Set your PC/Laptop IP as following:

2) Putty Settings:
  • Double Click on Putty 
  • Set your host name (ip address) as following and save with your name (write your name in saved
  • sessions)
  • Then open putty with the saved profile (your Name or any other if any)
3. WinScp settings
  • Double click on WinScp software
  • Set host name as following; user name will be root; password remained blank; select File protocol as SCP and save. Save the session as your Name. Then open WinScp with the saved profile according to needs (your Name or any other if any)

Various types of hardware issues of DAPRAN Device

We found 3 types of Hardware problems in DARPAN Device:

Type A: (Minor issues)

1) Touch Screen not functioning.
2) Touch Screen Damaged
3) Finger Print (Biometric) Scanner unable to capture finger print.
4) Charger Problem (Switching Adapter)
5) Battery not charging through battery cradle.
6) Antenna Damaged.
7) Key board not functioning
8) Printer roller not functioning
9) Invisible Printouts.
10) Barcode Scanner not functioning
11) Stylus broken/ lost
12) Power switch issues (Device is not powering ON)
13) SD card out of order.
‘Type A’ issues can be resolved only by replacing damaged part.

Type B: (Medium issues)

1) No SIM card and offline error issue while starting up the device, but SIM Status is good may be occurred due to non-responding of SIM slots of Device.
2) No SD card found error, but SD card is functioning properly in another Device may be occurred due to non-responding of SD card slots of Device.
3) Ethernet Port/RS-232 Port/USB Port/DC in Port/OTG Port/Antenna in Port not functioning.
4) Battery charging status good, but Device not getting power ON through battery but powering through
‘Type B’ issues can be resolved by replacing Analog CPU.

Type C: (Major issues)

1) Device not starting up (Not booting)
2) Device booting but screen appears black/white or with image of only Visiontek.
3) Printer error 'Lid is open’, but lid status is good.
‘Type B’ issues can be resolved by replacing Digital CP

Command for Device Testing:

> Connect the Device (power On condition) with PC/Laptop with LAN cable.
> Double click on Putty
> Double click on your profile created previously.
> Command window will appear.
> Type root against Login as in command window.
> System will ask for Root password:
a) Give password as visiontek for not provisioned Device.
b) Collect Root password for all the Devices of your division from the CPO, Darpan project.
> Type or paste the below command and press enter.
/mnt/sysuser/Gnome-Selfdiag -platform xcb
> Now look at the device screen and touch on options according to your needs.
#### By this way we can check faulty parts of a Device like as Biometric Scanner, Printer, Camera, Key pad etc before raising ticket before Service Desk
