Pointofsale Update 7.9.12 (for Franchised Outlets) dated 11.09.2020

1. Description:

As per the orders of directorate , the following changes have been incorporated to the existing Pointofsale update 7.9.12(being used by franchised outlets) 

The file being generated by the franchised outlet(Under Supervisor loginToolsData transfer, is not compatible with CSI POS. Hence this release. This update for Pointofsale being used by franchised outlet will be able to generate files that are compatible with both Meghdoot Pointofsale and CSI Pointofsale 4.2.

This document acts as an upgrade guide for upgrading the Pointofsale update 7.9.12 to Pointofsale update 7.9.11

2. Pre-requisite :

• Point Of Sale for franchised outlet version 7.9.11

3.General Instruction:

• Ensure that Up-gradation is carried out after Day End in Pointofsale.
• Ensure that the office is upgraded with PointofsaleForFranchisedoutlets Version 7.9.11
• Ensure that backups of all databases and mdb files are taken and securely preserved.

4.Upgrade Instructions

• Stop Point of Sale application and ensure that other POS related applications are not running.  
• Take a backup  of Counter database and counter.mdb also.
• Rename the existing Pointofsale.exe and copy the downloaded Pointofsale.exe in the installation path.

5.New Features and Modifications

• Provision to capture the CN 23 details have been made  available in the booking form i.e, For Foreign articles.  And the booking screen shall be as shown below.

• Provision to generate the files compatible with CSI POS environment. Option to generate the file either compatible with Meghdoot POS or with CSI POS. And the screen is as shown below.

• If the option compatible with Meghdoot POS is selected then, a single  text file will be generated containing all the mail transaction details of the franchised outlet of the particular date.

• For all Inland mail articles , different text files will be generated . The name of the file will itself contain the category of the article i.e whether RL or RL-AD etc. 

• If the option compatible with CSI POS  is selected .  

• and for foreign mail articles , category wise different excel files will be created.
