I am indeed happy to assume the charge of Head of West Bengal Circle which has a cherished history. 

We are in the middle of an unprecedented pandemic which has made both life and service delivery difficult and risky.

lnspite of all the odds, lndia Post as an essential service has risen to the occasion and during the current crisis we have already delivered over 80 lakhs Aadhar enabled payments, over 100 lakhs DBTs worth Rs.1000crores, over 5.31 crores POSB transactions worth more than 89,O0Qcrores. These are in addition to transporting of critical medicines, PPEs etc.

At this critical hour, the most important thing b to remain safe and urge others to follow Govt. directions regarding wearing mask, social distancing etc. As Govt. servants we also have the responsibility to deliver postal services to our fellow citizens many of whom are in very difficult situations.

We will be able to r'se to the occasion if we remember Tagore's famous words

'Where the mind is without fear".
