Jammu, May 11
India Post has reached out to people in rural and remote areas of the Union Territory of Ladakh for Aadhaar-enabled payment system (AePS) cash withdrawals amid the lockdown.
“Ever since the lockdown, the Ladakh postal division of India Post has disbursed Rs 10 lakh among 185 customers on their doorstep through AePS cash withdrawal in rural remote areas of the UT,” said an official of India Post.
“The Aadhaar-enabled Payment System cash withdrawal facility has been availed by account holders of various banks on their doorstep from different branch post offices and villages, including Chochout Shama, Phayang, Stok, Leh, Horzey, Gangles and Spituk, during the lockdown,” said Zahoor Ahmad Mir, Superintendent of Post Offices, Ladakh division.
