Plea of Postal Department Employees to Postal Directorate || A Kind Request & For favourable Order

Dear Sirs,

We all aware about that the spreading of COVID 19 in India and its present situation. Our PM has announced to impose 21 days total lockdown from 24.03.2020 midnight and police authority is  not allowing anyone on road in many states. 

On behalf of Postal Employees, the following statement recorded 

We all ready to work and not to spread the COVID 19 virus among staffs and also customers. So we  need clear and common instructions from Postal Authorities/Directorate about which service is essential to the customers in Postal Department. Department should consider the union requests and identify exact essential service to the public. 

To the best of my knowledge, to prevent DOP employees and our valuable customers from COVID-19, the DOP Banking Service is only essential in Post Offices. Moreover, at this time, the Withdrawn of amount is essential to the customer instead of allowing Deposit Amount. Further, Booking of all kind of mails may please be discontinued till the situation get normalised as the transport in r/o road, rail, air services have been completely suspended.

As per WHO and Indian Health Ministries/Department in the country, stay at home is highly recommended  for COVID-19. Further, the MHA(Ministry of Home Authority of India) guidelines dated 24.03.2020, Post Office listed as essential Department. But, Postal Directorate have decide which is the essential service in Postal and issue common instructions to all.

Further, Due to discontinuation of Transport, the Cash and mail transmission is also stopped. Hence, the Functioning of Sub Offices/Branch Offices is doubtful. Hence, the Closure of all the Post Offices is highly recommended or allowing to function the Head Offices & MDG only with SB Counter on rotational basis with the preventive items such as three layer Mask, Gloves, more than 60% alcohol  to be supplied to the all the working offices. Thermal scanning device to be supplied to identify the customer who have severe fever. 

Most of the Savings Account holder availed India Post ATM facility. Hence, Necessary instructions may please be supplied to all offices to display the notice regarding encourage the usage of ATM machine/Digital Transactions instead counter withdrawal. 

This will surely avoid spreading of COVID19 through Postal Network and also Customers .
