Instructions to Fixing of Maximum & Minimum Cash Balances

This is regarding upward revision of lime limits in view of establishment of Indian Post Payment Bank. In this context, Indian Post Payment Bank(IPPB) has requested Department of Poss (DoP) that (i) the cash limit at the beginning of the day(BOD) for BOs may be enhanced between minimum Rs.15000/- to Maximum Rs.30000/- depending upon the cash required for meeting the pending service request of IPPB transactions. This cash limit is in addition to the already existing authorized cash limit of BOs for post office service. (ii) Postmen / GDS may be handed over Rs.15000/- at BOD for handling IPPB transactions with limitation of Rs.5000/- per customer per day with a limit of 15 transactions per day. The limit can be increased to Rs.25000/- based on the pending service request.
