Monday a red-letter day as postal employees return to work


The Department of Posts says that all letters which were backlogged as a result of the trade union action, carried out by the Postal Service Employees, is expected to be distributed to the relevant areas by Monday, June 20.

Postmaster General Rohana Abeyratne says that all necessary action with regard to the distribution of the letters have been taken.

Convenor of the Joint Postal Trade Unions Front, Chinthaka Bandara has advised the postal service employees on how to distribute the letters in question, expeditiously.

Minister of Post and Postal Services, Abdul Haleem says that a report in connection to overtime issues, one of the many problems faced by postal service employees, is to be presented to Cabinet by the Ministry of Public Administration.
