Usage of new barcode ('Y' series) for Parcel COD articles

MB Division of Directorate issued instructions vide letter no.30-49/2012-D dated 08.10.2015 and 30.10.2015 to use Y series barcodes for Parcel COD (EPCOD and BPCOD) articles from 1.12.2015.

Analysis made by CEPT on the data available revealed that Y series barcode is not implemented by many booking offices situated in almost all the Circles, though 3 months have already passed from the date of implementation ordered by MB Division.

As long as Y series barcode is not implemented, the hubs and Post offices can handle the COD articles as non COD articles and adds up to more and more customer complaints about disposal of COD articles.
